Lexan is a polycarbonate thermoplastic produced by reacting Bisphenol A with phosgene, a compound resulting from the union of CO2 and chlorine gas. Once the resin hardens, it takes great force to break. The strength of Lexan cutlery will withstand repeated use. In fact, Lexanâs durability is highly valued among plastics and over the years has been used in sporting equipment and in NASAâs astronaut helmets. Lexan cutlery is lightweight, dishwasher safe, and stain and odor resistant.
This product is made of FDA approved polycarbonate.
Bio-resonance testing was done on water that had been in contact with Lexan plastic. We did not find any indication of Bisphenol A in the water. We did not boil or heat the water.*
How to care for:Â Although Lexan is a highly durable food-grade form of plastic, to prevent degradation of the plastic or leaching of any BPA, ensure to not heat or use utensils for food that above 158 degrees.Â
